It should go without saying the importance that Florence has on the Pee Dee region of South Carolina and the state as a whole. It provides its citizens a suburban feel with a small town ambiance. 

Recently, South Carolina REALTORS® (SCR) launched the South Carolina Good Life Initiative to promote the standard of living that South Carolinians are used to and want to keep. We recognize growing concerns across the state, including the Pee Dee region, surrounding quality of life and feel it is our duty to help advance people’s interests in these areas.

Florence was recently named one of the top 50 cities in America for business relocation and expansion. In past years, many businesses have chosen to locate here, including Hyatt Place in the heart of downtown Florence and Otis Elevator. More businesses mean more jobs in the area, helping our economy improve. We’ve seen locally owned businesses thrive and become adored by the community such as Hotel Florence and The Dispensary. A wave of positives follows a good economy, namely improvements in infrastructure, education, public safety, and housing options: all things that contribute to our quality of life. 

Through partnerships with our communities in the Florence area, SCR seeks to uphold the quality of life that keeps us living in the Palmetto State. We will work to ensure standards continue to be met and help advocate for improvements that are crucial for a good life in South Carolina.
