Dear Editor,

As an popular family beach destination, home values along the Grand Strand remain attractive to many looking to relocate to the area.  As one of SC’s most popular tourism destinations, our prices remain lower than the national average, coming in around $225,000 ($251,900 area wide).  Myrtle Beach has recently implemented affordable housing initiatives to help offset rising rent to keep pace with increasing home costs nationwide.  An ongoing challenge with the growing number of visitors our area receives during tourism season is staffing to provide ample public safety.

As a REALTOR® and Myrtle Beach resident, I am passionate about working to enhance the quality of life for our visitors and residents alike, which is why I am excited to announce the SC Good LIfe Initiative, a project of the SC Realtors.  The project is focused on promoting the quality of living standards that South Carolinians so enjoy and deserve!  As MB remains a top destination for many looking to relocate from higher density areas, it is imperative that SC continue to offer sustainable living options for all.  It is also important to emphasize the need for safe, welcoming communities where families can raise their children.  The SC Good Life Initiative is designed to encourage responsible growth, so that none are displaced by a robust economy.

SC REALTORS® is focused on all things relevant to fair housing. We are ready to help Myrtle Beach residents voice their concerns and lead the community to affordable living opportunities. To learn more about how to get involved, visit goodlife.screaltors.org or email goodlife@screaltors.org.

Sincerely,

Renny Diedrich
